Henry Ford’s mass-produced Model T changed the American landscape in the early 1900’s. But Ford’s foray in the auto industry began in 1896 when he built his first vehicle, the Quadricycle, a buggy frame with 4 bicycle wheels.

Over the years, some have credited him with inventing the car, but arguably his most significant automotive contribution was perfecting the moving assembly line.  This important advance allowed cars to be produced more quickly and inexpensively by unskilled laborers bringing the price within reach of the laborers who assembled the vehicles.
